Roast Ham

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Whole Bone-In Gammon
  • 1/2 cup Whole Cloves
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 3 Cup Water

METHOD:

  1. Preheat the oven to 175C
  2. Place Gammon in roasting tin and press whole cloves into the top at 2 inch spaces.  Rub the top with a layer of brown sugar.  Fill the bottom of the roasting tin with 1 inch of water.  Cover the pan slightly with foil or a lid.
  3. Bake for 4 to 5 hours unti the internal temperature of the gammon is 72C, making sure that the meat thermometer is not touching the bone. 
  4. Let the meat stand for 20 minutes before serving.
